Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®
and Soft Wax

“Painting with our paint should always be a pleasure.”

Annie Sloan developed her now famous Chalk Paint® to answer the need she had for a paint which would have many uses from acting like limewash to looking like old painted furniture and that had a good range of colour that could be extended by the user. This paint is very easy to work with and allows people to be creative as one doesn’t get involved with the technicalities of preparation and it also allows you to change your mind without hassle.

Applications:

  • BEST paint on the market for painting furniture
  • Paint can be used on most surfaces!
  • Use on walls- for a soft matte effect or wax it for a polished plaster effect
  • Can even use paint on floors
  • Paint can be applied to interior or exterior surfaces and furnishings

Techniques:

  • Use one color or layer colors
  • Distress and apply waxes to create an old world patina
  • Can be used as a wash-dilute with water so when you apply paint it shows the wood grain
  • You can use it as an impasto (thickly), just leave the lid off to thicken
  • Very little black is used so the colors can be mixed in any combination

Ease of Use:

  • No need to prime or prepare most surfaces
  • The colors are mixed intelligently

Go Green:

Paint has extremely low VOCs and has little to no odor

Annie Sloan Soft Wax

Annie Sloan Soft Wax is the perfect partner for Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan because they have been developed to work together. It can be used for protection and to give a beautiful mellow matte finish on painted furniture, cabinets, and walls. Our Soft Wax can be mixed with Chalk Paint® make a colored wax- how amazing.

How to Use:

Apply Clear Wax with a cloth or brush over dry Chalk Paint®. The wax will appear to darken the paint, but on drying it won’t be so apparent. For a distressed finish, rub gently with fine sandpaper AFTER applying the Clear Wax (while wax is still wet), then wax again. For a more pronounced aged look use Dark Wax over the Clear Wax, working it into any brush textures and removing excess with the clear wax. Finally buff with a cloth.

To maintain your furniture use a spray cleaner and re-wax. Annie Sloan Soft Wax is water repellent so it can be used on kitchen cabinets and table tops- apply two coats of wax, letting the coats dry in between, and buff to a high sheen. Soft Wax is not recommended for areas with a lot of water. Wax brushes should be washed in hot soapy water immediately after use.

Available in 500 ml tins.
